According to reports, a 16-year-old girl in Sadharanpur village, Patiala district, Punjab,
died after consuming excessive amounts of raw peas while working in the fields. The deceased has been identified as Prachi.
Prachi’s mother explained that her family works as farm laborers. As usual, they were picking peas in the fields when Prachi ate a large quantity of raw peas. Afterward, her health deteriorated and she began vomiting.

She was immediately taken to the hospital, where Prachi died during treatment. The family suspects that the pesticide spray may have caused their daughter’s death. Meanwhile, Prachi’s father, Jaswant Singh, had eaten a small amount of raw peas. He recovered after vomiting.
